Pune : (P&V News service) : “Physically & mentally fitness is the key of a happy life. Ideological, mental and physical health should be balanced. Stress-free living, regular exercise and nutritious diet should be part of our lifestyle to avoid various diseases. I learnt all this while working in the Air Force. I feel proud to have the privilege of serving the country as defense officer,” stated Air Marshal (retired) Bhushan Gokhale.


The International Association of Lions Clubs and Suryadatta Group of Institutes jointly organized the award function and free health checkup camp on the occasion of 18th National Diabetes Day. Lion Aruna Oswal, Trustee of Lions Clubs International Foundation was awarded with Lions Samaj Ratna Award, Dr. Vinod Shah, Founder of Janseva Foundation awarded with Lion Samaj Mitra Award and Renuka Salve, blind judo champion awarded Lion Divyajoti award at the hands of Gokhale.

Free diabetes screening also organized on the occasion. Diabetition Dr. Sanjay Gandhi delivered a lecture on Diabetes, Dr. Mandar Deo on post-coronal lifestyle & dietitian Dr. Shilpa Bhoskar delivered a lecture on diet planning.
The ceremony was held at Bansi Ratna Hall at Suryadatta Campus placed in Bavdhan on Friday. Dr. Sanjay Chordiya, Founder Chairman & President, Sushma Chordiya, Vice President of Suryadatta Group of Institutes, Lion Hemant Naik, District Governor of Lions Club, Lion Rajesh Kothavade, Deputy Governor, Lion Narendra Bhandari, Past International Director, Lion Dr Chandrahas Shetty, Past District Governor & Convener of Diabetes Awareness Program, Lion Shyam Khandelwal, Lion Satish Rajhans, Lion Sharad Pawar, Lion Jyotikumar Agarwal, Lion Vijay Rode, Lion Abhay Gandhi & other committee members were present.


If we live a stress free, happy life, we can keep away from diabetes and other diseases, said Hemant Naik. Dr. Vinod Shah, Narendra Bhandari, Rajesh Kothavade also expressed their views.
