Vedashree Tapovan To Organize Gita Jayanti Festival
Pune: The Vedashree Tapovan Working Committee, along with associated organizations, is organizing a three-day Gita Jayanti Festival in Alandi on the occasion of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita Jayanti. The festival will be held at Vedashree Tapovan in Alandi Moshi on 29th, 30th November, and 1st December. The sponsor of the festival is Pune’s renowned entrepreneur and trustee of Maharshi Vedavyas Pratishthan, Shri Abhay Sureshkumar Bhutada.
On this occasion, the Gita Parivar is organizing various competitions for school students at the district level in Pune from 22nd to 27th November 2025. The winners will be awarded their prizes during the festival.
On the first day of the festival, 29th November, at 9:00 AM, the flag hoisting ceremony will be conducted by Brahmachari Hanuman Chaitanya Maharaj. The treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, Ayodhya, P.P. Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj, will be present at this event. At 11:00 AM, the inauguration ceremony will take place, with Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, and H.B.P. Dr. Narayan Maharaj Jadhav from Alandi, attending the event. In the evening, a “Warkari Sadhak Sanman” ceremony will be held, followed by a kirtan by H.B.P. Dr. Yashodhan Maharaj Sakhare.
On the second day, 30th November, at 11:00 AM, the second phase of Vedashree Tapovan’s construction will commence with a religious ceremony and the Maharshi Vedavyas Award presentation. Kanchi Kamakoti Jagadguru Shankaracharya Anantashri Vijayendra Saraswati Maharaj and Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, will grace the occasion. Gulab Kothari, the Chief Editor of Rajasthan Patrika, will be honoured with an award. In the evening, there will be a kirtan service by H.B.P. Dr. Makarand Bua Ramdasi.
On the third day, 1st December, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, there will be a Srimad Bhagavad Gita Parayan and Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Award ceremony. During this event, the Governor of Maharashtra, Acharya Devvrat, will present the Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Award to H.B.P. Shantibramha Shri Maruti Baba Karekar and the Swami Vivekananda Award to C.S. Rangarajan. Dr. Mukund Datar, the President of Geeta Dharma Mandal, will be present on this occasion.
The three-day festival will feature several activities, including the ground-breaking ceremony for the second phase of Vedashree Tapovan, Ved Swahakar Yajna, school student competitions, prize distributions, Warkari Sadhak Pujan, award presentations, Hari Kirtan, discourses, and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita Parayan. The event is being organized by the Vedashree Tapovan Working Committee, along with Maharshi Vedavyas Pratishthan, Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Gurukul, Gita Parivar, and Shri Krishna Seva Nidhi, among others. Shri Abhay Bhutada, trustee of Maharshi Vedavyas Pratishthan, has urged citizens to participate in large numbers.
