Pune (P&V News Service): One of the country’s Oldest running Under 10 tournaments Pravin Trophy will now be back in a new format Post Covid , as MSLTA Suhana Smart Tennis 10’s Tennis Circuit and will be played across the state . The first event of the circuit will be played at the Baramati Club Tennis on May 7 and 8.
The unveiling of the New logo of the MSLTA Suhana Smart Tennis 10’s Tennis Circuit was done at the hands of Chairman of Pravin Masalewale and founder of the Pravin Trophy Mr Rajkumar Chordia and The Hon Secretary of MSLTA Sunder Iyer
Speaking to the media at the launch of the new logo Mr Rajkumar Chordia Exe Comm Member of MSLTA said “ With our company going national and the Suhana Brand of products becoming pan National brand we also decided to create a new brand for Under 10 tennis tournaments.
“We organized the Pravin Trophy Tennis tournaments for nearly 30 years in a row and unfortunately we could not hold the event for 2 years due to pandemic , but instead of 1 tournament we conducted in Pune every year we decided to team up with MSLTA to launch and support an entire Under 10 circuit , that will help the MSLTA to identify talented players at a very young age and nurture them into international players in the future “, Mr Chordia added.
Under the MSLTA Suhana Smart Tennis 10’s Tennis Circuit 15 tournaments will be organized across the state followed by Suhana 10’s Masters for top 8 players based on their performances in the 15 events .
In addition 3 Quarterly Tennis Training Camps under Expert coaches will be organized for the Under 10 players finishing top 8 at the end of the quarter , these selected players will be invited to attend these camps
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sunder Iyer who has been associated with the Pravin Trophy since inception added that , “ When there was dearth of tennis tournaments 30 years ago thanks to Vision of Rajkumar Chordia , we started Pravin Trophy with the sole aim of promoting tennis and players , the tournament which was started locally went on to become a important event on the national scene with many Davis Cupper and Fed Cuppers coming into limelight from this event
We were also the first tournament in Pune to start the Under 10 event and this was our flagship event, with this rich legacy behind us we have decided to extend the geographical area of our circuit as our company has also grown geographically across India .
We have launched the circuit in Maharashtra, but we will be taking the Under 10 circuit to Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana in the coming years with an aim of providing opportunities to Players to showcase their talent and identify young and talented players early in their careers , said Director of Pravin Masalewale and keen tennis player Vishal Chordia
एमएसएलटीए सुहाना स्मार्ट 10वर्षाखालील टेनिस सर्किट स्पर्धेस प्रारंभ
पुणे, 6 मे 2022: देशांतील सर्वात जुन्या स्पर्धांपैकी एक 10वर्षांखालील गटांतील ‘प्रविण करंडक’ स्पर्धा, कोविडनंतर आता नव्या फॉरमॅटमध्ये आयोजित करण्यात येणार असून एमएसएलटीए सुहाना स्मार्ट 10वर्षांखालील टेनिस सर्किट या स्पर्धेचे संपूर्ण राज्यभरात आयोजन करण्यात येणार आहे. या सर्किटमधील पहिली स्पर्धा ही बारामती क्लब टेनिस या ठिकाणी शनिवार 7 मे व रविवार 8 मे या दिवशी होणार आहे.
एमएसएलटीए सुहाना स्मार्ट 10वर्षांखालील टेनिस सर्किटच्या लोगोचे अनावरण प्रविण मसालेवालेचे अध्यक्ष व प्रविण करंडक स्पर्धेचे संस्थापक राजकुमार चोरडिया आणि एमएसएलटीएचे मानद सचिव सुंदर अय्यर यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आले.
पत्रकारपरिषदेत अधिक माहिती देताना एमएसएलटीएच्या समितीचे माजी सदस्य राजकुमार चोरडिया म्हणाले की, “आमच्या कंपनी राष्ट्रीय स्तरावर पोहोचली असून याबरोबरच सुहाना ब्रँडसची उत्पादने देखील राष्ट्रीय ब्रँड झाली आहेत. यामुळेच आमच्या ब्रँडसारखेच 10वर्षांखालील टेनिस स्पर्धा एक नवी ब्रँड स्पर्धा करण्याची आमचा मानस आहे”.
चोरडिया पुढे म्हणाले की, “प्रविण करंडक टेनिस स्पर्धेचे सलग गेल्या 30वर्षांपासून आयोजन करण्यात येत असून मागील 2वर्षांच्या कोविड महामारीच्या संकटामुळे आम्हांला या स्पर्धेचे आयोजन करता आले नाही. पूण्यात हि स्पर्धा वर्षातून एकदा आयोजित करत असतो, पण यावेळी आम्ही एमएसएलटीएशी संलग्न होऊन एका स्पर्धेच्या ऐवजी 10वर्षांखालील टेनिस सर्किट स्पर्धा संपूर्ण राज्यभर आयोजित करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे. या स्पर्धेच्या माध्यमातून एमएसएलटीएला या वयोगटातील गुणवान खेळाडू हेरून या खेळाडूंना भविष्यात आंतरराष्ट्रीय खेळाडू घडविण्यासाठी मदत मिळेल.
एमएसएलटीए सुहाना स्मार्ट टेनिस 10वर्षांखालील टेनिस सर्किटमध्ये 15 स्पर्धांचे संपूर्ण राज्यभरात आयोजन करण्यात येणार असून या स्पर्धेतील कामगिरीनुसार अव्वल आठ खेळाडूंची निवड हि सुहाना 10 मास्टर्ससाठी करण्यात येणार आहे. याशिवाय 10वर्षांखालील अव्वल आठ खेळाडूंसाठी टेनिस प्रशिक्षण शिबिराचे तज्ञ प्रशिक्षकांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली आयोजन करण्यात येणार असून या निवड झालेल्या खेळाडूंना या शिबिरासाठी निमंत्रणदेखील असणार आहे.
प्रविण करंडक टेनिस स्पर्धेशी प्रारंभापासून जोडले गेलेले एमएसएलटीएचे मानद सचिव सुंदर अय्यर या वेळी म्हणाले, की सुमारे 30 वर्षांपूर्वी टेनिस स्पर्धांचा दुष्काळच होता. टेनिस स्पर्धांचे आयोजन हे एक आव्हान होते. अशा काळात राजकुमार चोरडिया यांच्या सहकार्याने केवळ टेनिसचा प्रचार आणि प्रसार हे ध्येय ठेवून आम्ही प्रवीण करंडक स्पर्धेला प्रारंभ केला. राजकुमार चोरडिया यांच्या दूरदृष्टीलाच याचे श्रेय दिले पाहिजे.
सुंदर अय्यर पुढे म्हणाले, की स्थानिक स्तरावर सुरू झालेली ही स्पर्धा लवकरच राष्ट्रीय पातळीवरील एक महत्त्वाची स्पर्धा बनली. इतकेच नव्हे तर भावी काळात या स्पर्धेतून अनेक डेव्हिस चषक व फेड चषक स्पर्धा गाजविणारे खेळाडू पुढे आले. दहा वर्षांखालील गटाची स्पर्धा आम्हीच पहिल्यांदा सुरू केली आणि नंतर ही स्पर्धाच आमची प्रमुख ओळख बनली.
प्रवीण मसालेवाले कंपनीचे संचालक आणि टेनिसप्रेमी विशाल चोरडिया म्हणाले, की आता तीन दशकांची समृद्ध परंपरा पाठीशी असल्यामुळे आणि आमच्या कंपनीचाही भारतभर विस्तार झाला असल्यामुळे या स्पर्धेचा भौगोलिक विस्तार करण्याची आमची योजना आहे. सध्या महाराष्ट्रात ही स्पर्धामालिका सुरू असली, तरी लवकरच ही 10 वर्षांखालील स्पर्धामालिका गुजरात, मध्य प्रदेश, कर्नाटक व तेलंगणा या राज्यांमध्येही नेण्याची आमची योजना आहे. गुणवान खेळाडूंचा शोध घेऊन त्यांना आपली गुणवत्ता लहान वयातच सिद्ध करण्याची संधी मिळावी, असेही ध्येय आम्ही या स्पर्धेच्या माध्यमातून बाळगले आहे.
