The Kalyani School – Clean up drive

The Kalyani School, in a bid to make their students socially aware and inculcate a sense of responsibility towards their community, TKS’ students, faculty members and their partner NGO organised a voluntary ‘clean-up drive’ in the surrounding area of their school.

Pune: Community Service at The Kalyani School is very important and we want to inculcate that in every Student. We provide the opportunities to our students to help and spend time in working and helping the less fortunate and underprivileged, as they can benefit from our students’ efforts and outreach programs. In turn, our students learn to give back to the community.

Our students at TKS take their role in the Community service program very seriously. They enjoy being good citizens and role models. Apart from visiting several NGOs to help them out with academics, dance, art etc., they are equally passionate about cleaning our environment and taking care of their future.

One person can’t make a difference – It is hard for one person to make a change, but when all of us get together, we can make a notable impact on our society.

On 23rd April, 2022, we at TKS, decided to start our own clean up drive and create an awareness program to keep our community, clean and hygienic. The students decided to do something, to make their efforts noticeable. They realized that the movement has to begin with cleaning up the environment closest to you. With the help of Director Mrs. Deeksha Kalyani, Principal Mrs. Nirmal Waddan and Community service In-charge Ms. Ira Roa, they were able to carry out this duty.  The Health Inspector of Manjari Budruk, Mr Isaq Sheikh, along with the NGO – Janwani, were very helpful in providing assistance and help to make sure that the clean- up drive went off smoothly and the students could make an impact. We had around thirty students along with our support staff and teachers participating in this drive. Our Grade XII students, Pulkit Grover and Ayush Singh played a crucial role in helping us to bring this drive and all the students together, for this event. The clean-up lasted a little over an hour and the impact was incredible. The drive succeeded in raising the well-being and a growing sense of social responsibility among our enthusiastic students.
