Noble Hospital’s Awareness Campaign Against Obesity; Unique ‘Transformation’ Fashion Show of Patients

Pune: Noble Hospitals and Research Centre organized a unique “Transformation Fashion Show” featuring patients who transformed their lives by losing weight. More than just a fashion show, it was an inspiring celebration of confidence, highlighting individuals who overcame obesity through determination, perseverance, and strong willpower. 
 
 Dr. Sanjay Pathare, Group CEO; Dr. P. D. Pote,  Director; Dr. Reema Kashiva, Director, Centre of Excellence for Obesity, Metabolic Diseases and Advanced Bariatric Sciences  and Dr. Parmeshwar Bhamburde, Bariactric surgeon, among other dignitaries, were present on this occasion,.
 
A total of 20 participants who had undergone or were undergoing treatment in the obesity department of Noble Hospital took part in the competition. Awards were presented to four women and four men in three categories: best attire, expression, and ramp walk. Notably, participants aged between 30 and 70 years who had reduced their weight from as much as 90 kg to 155 kg were part of the event, making it especially remarkable.
 
Sonia Konjeti, founder of PULA Pune Ladies, and actress Janhavi Pathak graced the occasion  as judges.
 
Dr. Sanjay Pathare stated that at Noble Hospital, the emphasis goes beyond merely treating illnesses to fostering both physical and mental transformation in patients. Weight loss is a challenging journey, and the program was organized to celebrate those who have successfully achieved it while motivating others to believe that they can accomplish it as well, he said 
 
The judges also commended the participants for their dedication and perseverance. The participants, in turn, expressed their gratitude to obesity specialists Dr. Parmeshwar Bhamburde and Dr. Reema Kashiva for their guidance and support throughout their successful journeys.
 
Dr. Reema Kashiva, Programme Director – Centre of Excellence for Obesity, Metabolic Diseases and Advanced Bariatric Sciences at Noble Hospitals said that untreated obesity is associated with a lot of health complications, including diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and metabolic disorders and many other diseases . Early and scientific intervention can significantly reduce these risks and improve quality of life.
 
 
Dr. Pote also shed light on the various health complications associated with obesity. He explained that excess weight places additional strain on the skeletal system and the heart, thereby increasing the likelihood of conditions such as high blood pressure and heart disease.
 
The program also provided participants with a platform to share their personal experiences and challenges, delivering an inspiring message to everyone present.
