‘Sochu’ children’s book set released.

These days children are becoming addicted to the internet and cell phones. They consume a whole lot of content through these phones every single day. In fact, children love watching videos as much as eating chocolates or their favourite snacks. Considering this, three young men from Pune – Deven Gandhi, Vilas Algude and Chetan Vohra thought that if we can make this everyday content nutritious and wholesome, it would do a lot of good for our children. They wanted to make something non-violent and something that would help children make sense of the world around them.

Children today are exposed to extremely entertaining content all day and hence the three of them decided to make a series of children’s books that are as entertaining as the cartoons that children watch and yet, it would have something wholesome and nutritious to take away from.

After a whole lot of brainstorming, they thought that if there is one gift they could give children, it would be the ability to have their own thoughts! This is how they came up with the character of a seven-year-old ‘Sochu’ who loves to THINK! Chetan Vohra explained the concept behind the book at a press conference which was held recently.

Who is Sochu?

Every animal has a certain trait for survival. Birds have wings, fish have gills, tigers have claws. But what about us? What is our trait for survival? You’re right! It’s the ability to THINK!

“Through Sochu, we wish to inculcate the idea that: Thinking is for EVERYONE and thinking can be a lot of FUN!”

When Deven Gandhi, Vilas Algude and Chetan Vohra sat down to brainstorm about the concept of their children’s cartoon, they realised that if there is ONE gift that they would want to give the children of today, it would be the ability to have their own thoughts!

Sochu is a set of 12 books that has topics that are super relatable to our everyday lives. Sochu books have something in them for the adults as well and these books are known to initiate some wonderful conversations between adults and children, creating a one of a kind bonding experience which is the need of the hour!
