The Maharashtra NGO Development Associationto host a state-level convention in Pune on August 19
Pune: The Maharashtra NGO Development Association (MNDA) will hold its state-level convention on Tuesday, August 19, at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Swargate, Pune. The day-long event, scheduled from 9 am to 5 pm, is expected to see participation from a large number of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) across the state.
Announcing the convention at a press conference, Dr. Yuvraj Yedure, state president of the MNDA, said the gathering will focus on Maharashtra’s social issues, developmental challenges, and opportunities for NGOs to partner with government and corporate CSR funds in implementing welfare programmes.
The convention will be chaired by Popatrao Pawar, chairperson of the Adarsh Gram Yojana. Among the prominent attendees will be Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, Industries Minister Uday Samant, Minister of State for Industries Indranil Naik, former Minister of State for Home Bala Nandgaonkar, and MLA Rohit Pawar.
Dr. Yedure said the convention will pass several resolutions on long-pending social issues, the scope and impact of NGO work, their role in contemporary development, and the use of new technology in the social sector. “The event will also deliberate on forming a state-level apex body to strengthen the rights and representation of NGOs in Maharashtra,” he said.
Officials and experts expected to guide the sessions include Charity Commissioner Amogh Kaloti, Divisional Income Tax Officer Nitin Waghmode, Harshad Barge (Tender Guru), Prashant More (Maha CSR Development Association), and Dr. Anjali Bapat (Heartfulness Institute – Maharashtra & Goa coordinator).
Other notable participants include Prof. Dr. Bapusaheb Adsul (Ministry Coordination Committee), Yogesh Patil (MIT National Sarpanch Parliament), Sanjay Bhosale (Maharashtra Environmental Coordination Committee), and entrepreneur Vikram Ugle.
The committee has urged NGOs from across Maharashtra to attend the convention in large numbers. “This platform will help build strategies, share innovations, and engage meaningfully with government schemes and CSR opportunities,” Dr. Yedure added.
