Pune: The palanquins of Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, who are on their way to Pandharpur for the Ashadhi Wari, halted in Pune today. As every year, the Dugad Group from Pune warmly welcomed the Warkaris this year as well.
Gaurav Pramod Dugad shared information about the initiative and said, “The Dugad Group and Pushpa Steel have been serving Warkaris for over 25 years now. The tradition of service started by the late Maniksheth Dugad is being sincerely continued by my father Pramod Dugad, and now by me and my wife Monal Dugad.”
“This year, we distributed 10,000 Shabnam bags to Warkaris, and sarees were also given to female devotees. Additionally, as per tradition, we provided over 500 Warkaris with food kits sufficient to last until they reach Pandharpur. These kits include essential items such as rice, sugar, jaggery, peanuts, sabudana, gud-dani, biscuits, etc. We believe it is our duty to give back to society, and we consider it a divine opportunity to serve Lord Vitthal by helping the Warkaris who come through our city,” Dugad added.
