Pune(Voice News Service): In a momentous stride forward, Noble Hospitals and Research Centre has installed Maharashtra’s first SSI Mantra 3 Robotic System, an advanced innovation system designed to improve surgical precision and efficiency for enhanced patient outcomes. The Robotic System was inaugurated at the hands of wellknown Marathi actor Prasad Oak in presence of Dr.Dileep Mane, Chairman and Managing Director of Noble Hospitals, Mr Satish Magar, Chairman Magarpatta Township Development, Dr. H.K Sale, Executive Director Noble Hospitals, Dr.Divij Mane, Dr.Umesh Paprunia, Dr.Ashish Pokharkar and other prominent medical professionals.

The SSI Mantra 3 robotic system incorporates the latest breakthroughs in robotic surgery, featuring five lean robotic arms, an immersive 3D HD headset that delivers unparalleled optics for surgeons, and a vision cart that offers 3D 4K imaging for the entire surgical team, ensuring enhanced precision and control.

Dr. Ashish Pokharkar, Oncosurgeon Noble Hospitals and Research Centre said that this robotic system ushers in a new era of surgical technology. The Robotic System will be used in many life saving procedures including General surgeries, Cardio-Thoracic, Urology, Gynaecology and many complex surgical procedures. Recently we achieved a significant milestone by conducting our first surgery using this system. The surgery involved a robotic right extended hemicolectomy on a patient diagnosed with colon carcinoma.

“It’s the best of both worlds,” said Dr. H.K Sale, Executive Director Noble Hospitals  , “The recovery is highly enhanced due to the most minimally invasive approach via fingertip sized incisions with even smaller instruments that have a much greater range of movement when compared to laparoscopic and open surgical approaches. For the patients this means shorter hospital stays and least discomfort that gets them back to their active routine at the earliest.”

Dr. Dileep Mane, Managing Director and Chairman, said the robotic system is a part of our efforts to embark on a path of continuous improvement. This robotic system reflects our commitment to adopt newer technologies and enhance patient outcomes and experience.

Dr Divij Mane, Director Noble Hospital and Research Centre said last year we became the first hospital in Pune to achieve the worlds highest healthcare accolade, the J.C.I.- Golden Seal, this year we established a state-of-the-art Human Milk Bank and now the leading-edge in robotic surgical systems that uses a minimally invasive approach to provide our patients the most painless and rapid recovery.

Our aim is to persistently maintain the highest standards of quality in healthcare and get the latest technological advances in the hands of competent doctors.

Dr.Dileep Mane added, ”I commend our team of doctors, nurses and support staff who are dedicated towards achieving superior clinical outcomes for a culture of excellence in patient care”.

The first SSI 3 robotic surgery at Noble Hospital was conducted on a 34 year old female dentist .

Dr.Ashish Pokharkar said that the patient had presented to us with upper rectal bleeding ( blood in the stool) and severe  anaemia. Diagnosis pointed out to a right side colon cancer with 10 cm tumour. While normally we would have opted for laparoscopy, the availability of robotic system helped us achieve more  precision . The robotic system offers better hand movement range and helps the surgeon with multifold magnified 3D image . The robotic system offers better ergonomic comfort to the surgeon as he/she can sit at the console. The patient recovery is faster. In this case the patient passed motions on the fourth day and was discharged on that day.
