The Foundation aims to turn players into champions; Hemant Bendrey unveils logo

Pune (Voice news service):- Shaping Champions Foundation unveiled its logo and mission statement – Empowering Players, Parents, and Academies in Pune through the promotion of World-Class Tournaments in Pune – here on Monday.

Sarika Gadade, Ketaki Joglekar, and Sonali Deshmukh are directors of the Shaping Champions Foundation and believe that every tennis player deserves access to top-notch training and competition opportunities and are dedicated to promoting world-class tennis tournaments in Pune. They aim to shape champions on and off the court by fostering a supportive community that values sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.

Hemant Bendrey unveiled the logo of the Shaping Champions Foundation. “I am delighted to unveil the logo of the foundation and I am confident that through this organisation, we will see the tennis culture in Pune grow even bigger.”

“We have produced several champion players over the years and with the support of the Shaping Champions Foundation, we will see many more champions emerge,” he added.

Renowned tennis coach from the city, Hemant Bendrey will serve as a mentor to the foundation. “The Objective of Shaping Champions is to create opportunities for tennis players, the work they have done in the last two years is impressive and I would like to help them achieve their objectives”

Shaping Champions Foundation has identified problematic areas in the current tennis set-up. The issue begins with the lack of AITA tournaments in Pune. It leads to players travelling out-station for competitive tournaments at high costs, lack of time to train & recover and risk of an injury. It adds to a lack of family time for players and can also lead to ignorance towards academics.

Shaping Champions Foundation has found the solution and is committed to solving the problem by arranging more tournaments in

Pune. It’s cost-effective, players can plan their training and recovery sessions better and minimize the risk of injury. The saved time can be diverted to family time or academics, which can only have a positive impact on the players.

The model for Shaping Champions Foundation is a hybrid of parents contributing monetarily with time and efforts to go hand in hand with the sponsors on board.

Shaping Champions Foundation in the 2022-23 season financed 18 tournaments and invested more than Rs36 lakh in Pune’s tennis eco-system, which has benefitted over 300 players to play in Pune.

In 2024, the Shaping Champions Foundation aims to support more than 25 tournaments. They plan to offer recording of matches, YouTube streaming of matches, tennis clinics and a chance to train with guest coaches.
