Record ₹30 Lakhs prize money on offer
Pune (Voice News Service): A total 359 players from 25 states will be seen in action at the 60th National Chess Championships 2023 which will be organized by Maharashtra Chess Association and played at the Boxing Hall , Shree Shivchatrapati Kreeda Sankul, Mhalunge Balewadi, Pune from 16th to 26th August 2023.
Speaking to reporters the Dr.Parinay Fuke,President, Maharashtra Chess Association, Mr.Anirudhha Deshpande,Senior Vice President, Maharashtra Chess Association and Working President of Maharashtra Chess Association Mr.Siddharth Mayur, informed that it’s a proud moment for Maharashtra that a major event has will be organised by the state.
The event will offer record prize money of ₹30lakhs this year . Mr.Ashwin Trimal, VP of PDCC, Prakash Kunte, Rajendra Shidore, Vinita Shrotri and Deepti Shidore were present on the occasionThe National tournament will be played over 11 rounds in the Swiss league format and will see participation of 25 states .
A total 359 rated Players from various states which include Maharashtra, Delhi, Assam, Haryana, Nagaland, Goa, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Himachalpradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhyapradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Gujrat, Bihar, Uttarpradesh will be seen in action, Mr.Niranjan Godbole,Hon Secretary, Maharashtra Chess Association added.
The winner will be awarded the Adv. Sanket Fuke Memorial Trophy and Rs.6,00,000/-, while runner up will get trophy and Rs.5,00,000/-. Top six players from this tournament will represent India in the Various International Tournament, added GM Abhijit Kunte.
