Kishor Chhabria goes on 8 days hunger strike for justice in the case of fraud by Bajaj Allianz General Insurance

Pune: Kishor Chhabria, a Senior Citizen residing at Pune & the Chairman and Managing Director of Sleepins Apparels Pvt ltd (In liquidation) has been on hunger strike for the past eight days to seek justice in a case of fraud by Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. Chabbria interacted with the media today with this subject.

Kishor Chhabria said, “I was engaged in carrying on business under the name and style of Sleepins and had 50 stores across India and had a flourishing business having great repute within the industry as well as in general public for its quality products and that Sleepins was associated with manufacture of premium garments for women.

Bajaj Allianz has issued 4 policies bearing the same number to Sleepins Apparels Pvt Ltd and this is fraud. By 2009, my business was doing well & the annual turnover was 150 crores. Borrowing from IDBI Bank for business expansion prompted me to take a policy from ‘Bajaj Allianz’, their channel partner. Accordingly, I took the policy.

Bajaj Allianz issued insurance policies of about 90 Crores to Sleepins, of these four policies bearing the same number as OG-09-2001-4006-00000003 which is fraud. It is submitted that this fraud doesn’t stop here. If Bajaj Allianz has issued four policies to Sleepins against one serial number then Bajaj Allianz has issued several other policies to various other policyholders and the scam could go over ‘Rupees one trillion’, he added.

He further said that to suppress this kind of a mammoth scam several illegal methods were adopted by Bajaj Allianz and Bajaj Allianz and IDBI Bank being channel partners in 2008. I realized this fraud while making a claim after my warehouse and office got fired. After investigation and Panchnama, it was found that the fire was caused by a short circuit. But, they tried to destroy me and my family by filing a false case against me to avoid claims. To suppress the fraud of issuing multiple policies of the same number Bajaj Allianz and IDBI being hand in glove, a criminal case was filed and FIR was registered, the complainant has not signed the FIR, I was protected by the court and anticipatory bail was issued. But the Yerwada police station arrested me and my family in 2011 and a remand for 5 days was granted. The remand report states that Kishor Chhabria has himself put fire to his factory. Thereafter after investigation the Yerwada Police station filed a report u/Sec169 of Cr.P.C before the Ld. Magistrate and after a fully-fledged trial me and my son were acquitted of all the charges on 08.09.2021, he informed.
