Pune: The Jumping Gorilla Organization on Wednesday announced its prestigious ‘The Jumping Gorilla Elite Athlete Sponsorship Programme’ for the year 2023 and is open to athletes & runners who’ve got true passion & zeal for trail running.
As per the information shared by officials of the organization, The Jumping Gorilla Elite Athlete High-Performance Training Centre will hold time trials, to assess young athletes before selection for the sponsorship programme.
Founder Director at InfraBeat Technology Pvt Ltd. Ravindra Saraf, Founder of The Jumping Gorilla Mountain Trail Run Adinath Naik and Jaygovind Yadav, Co-founder of The Jumping Gorilla Mountain Trail Run were present at the press conference.
InfraBeat Technologies and Lofty Dreams Sports Development Trust support the programme.
Founder of The Jumping Gorilla Mountain Trail Run, Adinath Naik said, “The programme is set to be one of the most competitive sports industry events. It will feature three categories, including a male residential program, a female-only training camp and sponsorship association, and a training camp for athletes who will be unable to join the residential program. Selected athletes will have access to the centre’s top-tier resources, including residential training under experienced coaches, doctors, and sports researchers.”
Ravindra Saraf said, the sponsorship program aims to identify, nurture and support talented male and female athletes in the 50km and 100km mountain trail run categories. The Sponsorship Programme is poised to make a significant impact on the lives and careers of young trail runners coming from rural and tribal regions.
As part of Time Trial race there are elite athletes across India participating on the 25th and 26th of February 2023 for time trial races. The selected athletes will participate in International Trail races and Marathons in Asia and Europe.
Details of the Time trials
Two categories of time trials will be conducted to select the most deserving athletes for the sponsorship programme.
Category 1: Road Race Time Trial – 21km
Date: 25th February 2023
Venue: Kirti Garden Indian Sports Revolution Campus, Pashan Sus road, Behind Audi Showroom.
Category 2: Mountain Trail Time Trial -40km
Date: 26th February 2023
Venue: TJGMTRC start point (K2S Route)
