Pune geared up to witness its first ‘Rotary Boxing – Fight Night’ at MIT ADT University Campus in Loni Kalbhor
Pune (Voice News Service): Boxing lovers of Pune are all set to witness an enthralling contest of fist and fury when the first fight card of the Rotary Boxing Pune Fight Night unfolds at MIT ADT University Campus in Loni Kalbhor on Sunday.
The Rotary Boxing- Pune Fight Night is the first of many events planned as part of the Professional Boxing Fight Series, which is being organized in the city by Rotary Club of Pune Central and Indian Boxing Council (IBC) in the coming months. The Pune Fight Night is being organized by Rotary Club of Pune Central and sponsored by MIT Group of institutions and CT Pundole & Sons.
The Rotary Boxing – Pune Fight Night on Sunday consists of 7 bouts, including a National Boxing Title each in the Men’s and Women categories. Both National Boxing Title bouts are sanctioned by the World Boxing Council. Both Titles Men’s & Womens’s will be of 8 rounds each. All the 7 fights will be telecast live globally on the World Boxing Council Live TV, powered by the VIVE network.
Talking about the event, President of RCPC, Mr Uday Dharmadhikari said, “We are proud to present an event to the city, which will not only entertain the spectators but will also bring more people together, to work for many social causes and the betterment of Pune city.”
President of IBC, Brig PKM Raja said the Sunday event will kickstart the series of Professional boxing in Pune and promises to engage the sports lovers of the city.
“Professional boxers across the country are doing well at National and International level. Cities like Delhi, Gurugram, Hyderabad and many more have been organising Fight Nights, but this is the first time Pune will witness something as grand as this. We are committed to presenting a sporting extravaganza to the citizens of Pune and wish to make Professional boxing a household name in the city,” Brig Raja said.
