Diwali with a purpose
Pune (Voice News Service) – Everybody celebrates Diwali, but Vishranti Hospital and Care India Medical Society (CIMS) have made it extra special and memorable this year.On the occasion of Diwali The CIMS and Vishranti Hospital held their Diwali with a Purpose function at Charak Auditorium, Command Hospital (New Complex), Near Golibar Maidan, Pune. Working with the motto of alleviation of pain and human suffering, the trust works towards bringing public awareness of cancer, early detection, and providing palliative care to advanced stage patients in and around the city. The Founder trustee of CIMS is NS Nyayapathy.
The chief guest of the program was Advisor to the Hon’ble Minister of Health, Govt of Maharashtra, Dr. Subhash R Salunke, and the Guest of Honour was Commandant, Command Hospital (SC),Pune. Maj. Gen. BK Goyal, VSM. The guest on the dais was Lt Gen MA Tutakne and Mr. Samratt Phadnis, Dr. Anant Bhushan Ranade and many more Hon’blepersons.
The function was attended by cancer patients and their families, amongst other guests. Even the patients and family members shared heartwarming stories of their personal struggles with the disease.
The patients as well as their family members thanked the CIMS staff and Vishranti Hospital for their truly, heartily, and empathetic support and care during their hardest journey. One of the cancer patients said that the Vishranti Hospital helped her a lot in fighting cancer and at the same time, all the facilities and treatment, as well as all the checkups were done free of cost. This facility is for all cancer patients, so it will be very helpful for all cancer patients, as it has been for me.
