Extortion Demand Of Rs Seven Crore Made From Big Businessman From Pune; FIR Lodged Against Aman Duggal Of Koregaon Park

Pune – An incident has been reported wherein a demand was made to extort Rs seven crore from a company engaged in online training to build physical and mental fitness by posting a defamatory video on YouTube. (Pune Crime)

Mr. Jitendra Shivdayal Chouksey (36), a resident of Viman Nagar and founder of Squats Fitness Private Limited has lodged a complaint with the Vimantal police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Aman Duggal (28), a resident of Koregaon Park on charges of extortion, among others.

The incident took place between June 27, 2021 and July 2, 2022.

According to the police, complainant Jitendra Chouksey is the Founder – Director of the company Squats Fitness Private Limited which is in the business of fitness training through a hugely popular app called “Fittr”. The said company has been funded by Sequoia Capital, Dream Sports Investments and Elysian Park Ventures. The accused, Aman Duggal, posted a series of defamatory videos against Jitendra Chouksey and Fittr on YouTube and Instagram. In one of the videos, he demanded money and threatened the complainant that if the money is not paid, then the extortion amount will keep on increasing. He told the complainant that the money will have to be transferred to the accused’s account. The complainant was threatened that he will have to face severe consequences if the money is not paid. Since the money was not paid, a series of other defamatory videos were posted on YouTube, passing negative comments about the reputation of the complainant and causing harassment.

API Lahane is investigating the case and an FIR was registered against Aman Duggal on 27th August 2022.

Aman Duggal, on 30th August 2022, approached the Additional Sessions Court in Pune for anticipatory bail but his ad interim bail plea was rejected.
