Pune (P&V news Service): Pune headquartered, Rahi, a leading global integrated IT enterprise solutions providerhas organized a month-long donation drive of pre-owned clothes tobe handed over to Eco Regain, a sustainable organization that recycles and reusesclothesto handcraft new products. This was a pioneering initiative that the employees participated in to drive homea sustainableecosystem message.In the initial phase, about 90% of the employees from the Pune office took part.
These old clothes will be converted into sustainable products such as handbags, sling bags, laptop bags, men’s bags travel bags, yoga mat bags, gym bags, maternity bags, and many more. They also make sacks, floor mats (satranji), and home décor items such as carpets and rugs. These items are priced in the range from Rs. 160 to Rs 1,999. Rahi plans to expand the initiative on a large scale by organizing this eco-friendly initiative across the offices, every year.
Eco Regain has been founded with a mission to provide a sustainable solution to the old clothing waste. Eco Regain provides livelihood to women and is working towards womenempowerment.
