Pune : (P&V News service) : “The scope of hospitality sector is huge and an innovative initiative called ‘ACOHI-Pehchan’ has been undertaken to provide in-depth information and knowledge to the youth, students and other people associated with this sector. Renaissance, self-esteem and unique identity will be noticed to the hospitality sector through this initiative. The innovative initiative ‘ACOHI-Pehchan’ has been undertaken jointly by Suryadatta Group of Institute’s Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management, Travel and Tourism (SCHMTT) and Asian Countries Chamber of Hospitality Industry (ACOHI) said Chairman Dr. Sanee Avsarmal and the Founder President of Suryadatta Professor Dr. Sanjay Chordiya in a press conference. He said that the project, “ACOHI – Pehchan” in Asian Continent Starting from India at Suryadatta Hotel Management Institute, Pune.
Dr. Sanee Avsarmal said, “The hospitality sector contributes a lot to India, accounting for 12 per cent of GDP. There are huge job opportunities in this sector. There is hospitality management in government, private establishments as well as hotels, restaurants, malls, airports, railway stations etc. Post corona, the number of people coming to this sector is increasing. However, students studying in other institutions including catering colleges, hotel management need proper guidance and employment confidence. Often 10-20% of students drop out of the course in the first year due to lack of information. The number of dropouts after completion of the course is about 40-50%. Hence, skilled manpower is not available in this sector. The hospitality industry has taken the initiative to fill this gap, and this is a unique initiative for the rights, dignity and in-depth information of those working in this field. “
Hotels and companies in this sector there is lack of skills between required manpower and available manpower. Recognizing this need, the Asian Countries Chamber of Hospitality Industry, one of the world’s leading chambers in the field of hospitality, has taken the initiative and launched the ‘ACOHI-Pehchan’ initiative. Various elements in this field will be introduced through ‘ACOHI-Pehchan’. What exactly is hospitality? What kind of work is in it? What are the employment opportunities in this sector? Many have made a name for themselves in this field, they will be introduced to the students. The initiative will talk about how local level hotels, resorts and five-star hotels work. Efforts will be made to provide support and employment to the children along with solving the questions raised by them. Various workshops, seminars, counseling, lectures by experts, interactions with veterans from the field, success stories will be revealed,” concluded Dr. Avsarmal.
Professor Dr. Sanjay Chordia said, “Corona has caused a lot of problems in hospitality, tourism and many other sectors. The initiative will work as a step up to shake off all the problems and kick off the work again. Suryadatta Group of Institutes regularly organizes innovative activities.
