Interactive meeting with chartered accountants in Pune

Pune (P&V News Service) Chartered accountants play an important role in the economy of the country. They are the backbone of the country’s economic development. For the creation of developed India, the economy must be strong and CA’s are the pillars of that economy, said Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad while praising Chartered Accountants.
He also expressed happiness for Pune having the highest number of chartered accountants in the country. Dr. Karad was talking in the Interactive meet organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s Pune branch at Bibwewadi. On this occasion, National President of ICAI, CA Nihar Jambusaria, CA (Dr) SB Zaware, Chair of AOSSG, ICAI Pune Branch President CA Sameer Ladda, Vice President CA Kashinath Pathare. Past President CA Abhishek Dhamane, Committee Member CA Amruta Kulkarni were present.
Dr. Karad further said that the Prime Minister has suggested that every citizen of the country should have a bank account and it should be functional. He mentioned that, Jan-Dhan Yojana has achieved a lot in this regard. However, there is a need to do more in the field of financial literacy. Dr. Karad informed that towards this end, with the help of NABARD, a project has been undertaken to create financial literacy by providing one publicity vehicle for each district. The Union Minister appealed to the chartered accountants to take active part in this campaign.
“The Government of India is working on the principle of ‘for the people’. We want to develop the economy of the country with your support. Chartered accountants, who are like physicians of the economy, could play a major role in this.” the minister said. After COVID-19 pandemic, monthly collection of GST increased tremendously and it shows the country’s economy growing again. Budget is also increased in the last seven years, he added.
In his welcome address, CA Nihar Jambusariya highlighted issues that accountants were facing, such as audit fees not being revised for nearly a decade. He also mentioned that ICAI has started a financial literacy movement and released six videos in 12 different languages for the people. CA (Dr) Zaware also expressed his views. CA Sameer Ladda welcomed and gave the opening remarks. Pranav Mantri & Pooja Maheswari compared the program. CA Kashinath Pathare gave the vote of thanks.
