Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni and Cultural Researcher Shefali Vaidya Mark India Launch of Artec Jet in Pune

Technology showcases future applications in archaeology, conservation, defence and infrastructure mapping

Pune: Pelf Infotech, in collaboration with Artec 3D, announced the India launch of Artec Jet, an advanced industrial reality capture and mobile LiDAR scanning platform, at a technology event held in Pune. The launch was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni and renowned Temple and Murti Shastra expert Shefali Vaidya. in the presence of industry leaders, engineers, and geospatial experts. The launch comes at a time when India is accelerating investments in infrastructure modernization, industrial digitization, and geospatial intelligence.

Artec Jet is a site-scale scanning platform designed for rapid digital mapping of large industrial and infrastructure environments. Powered by Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), it enables real-time scanning while simultaneously tracking its position—without reliance on GPS or fixed targets. This makes it highly effective in underground, enclosed, and complex environments, while significantly reducing time compared to traditional static scanning methods.

The platform is engineered for flexible deployment, supporting backpack-based mobile workflows, drone-assisted aerial scanning for large-area mapping, and robotic deployment in hazardous environments such as gas-prone mines and structurally unstable zones. It also enables integrated digital twin creation, where large-scale spatial data can be combined with high-resolution object-level scans to model entire facilities or complex physical assets.

Speaking at the event, Ajinkya Huddar, CEO & Managing Director, PELF Group of Companies, said: “With Artec Jet, we are introducing advanced mobile reality capture capabilities for Indian industry. Its ability to operate in complex and GPS-denied environments makes it highly relevant for infrastructure, engineering, and large-scale industrial digitization.”

Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni added: “Advanced mapping systems such as this have strong relevance for strategic sectors, including defence and large-scale infrastructure planning, where accurate spatial intelligence and rapid data capture are critical.”

Shefali Vaidya said: “It is fascinating to witness how technologies once limited to highly specialized global industries are now becoming part of conversations in Pune. The ability to digitally document spaces, structures and environments with such precision can play an important role in preserving legacy assets — from heritage structures to public landmarks — while opening new possibilities for research, conservation, storytelling and urban planning.”

Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni added: “Advanced mapping systems such as this have strong relevance for strategic sectors, including defence and large-scale infrastructure planning, where accurate spatial intelligence and rapid data capture are critical.”

Andrew Varlamov, Sales Channel Director – EMEA Region, Artec 3D, said: “India is among the fastest-growing markets for industrial digitization, and we are pleased to partner with Pelf Infotech to introduce Artec Jet to Indian enterprises.”

The event also featured Pelf’s forte since last 24 years as a technological catalyst by Shibshankar Chakraborty, Business Head, Pelf Infotech, along with technical presentations and live demonstrations by Artec CEM Denis Baev.
