Pune Eyecon 2026 brings together domestic and international ophthalmologists to discuss retinal care advancements

Pune: NIO Super Specialty Hospital, one of the most prestigious and renowned institutes in India, recently hosted its annual conference, Pune Eyecon 2026 – The Retina Conclave in the city. A two-day summit organised under the aegis of the Poona Ophthalmological Society, it witnessed the congregation of national as well as international ophthalmologists focus on advancing retinal care and innovation in ophthalmology.

The two-day conference witnessed discussions from esteemed ophthalmologists, retina specialists, and medical professionals on the future of retinal eye care. It majorly focused on the retina, as it is one of the most complex and critical structures of the eye. The congregation featured an intensive scientific agenda comprising masterclasses, panel discussions, case-based learning, and surgical video presentations showcasing cutting-edge techniques in vitreoretinal surgery.

The Pune Eyecon also featured a few esteemed international ophthalmologists including Dr. Gavin Tan from Singapore National Eye Centre, SingaporeDr. Aniruddha Agarwal from Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi, and Dr. Prithvi Mrityunjay from Stanford University, USA. These experts shared their understanding of complex retinal disorders, imaging biomarkers, diabetic macular edema, and evolving treatment protocols.
