Daikin rolls out AI-powered VRV Alpha, launches 2026 AC lineup

Focus on energy efficiency, smart cooling solutions; prices to rise from April, says Dy MD Shogo Ando

Pune: Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. on Friday announced the launch of its 2026 air-conditioning product lineup, introducing a new range of high-efficiency room ACs along with the AI-powered ‘VRV Alpha’ series, aimed at strengthening its position in India’s fast-growing cooling market.

The new room AC portfolio has been designed in line with the latest Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) 2026 star rating norms, with a focus on improved ISEER performance standards. The company said the range reflects its ‘Responsible Cooling’ approach, integrating features such as patented streamer discharge technology for air purification, swing compressor for efficiency, IoT-enabled smart controls, anti-corrosion coating, and high-ambient cooling performance of up to 54°C.

Daikin has placed particular emphasis on its 5-star inverter split ACs, offering quieter operation, faster cooling, and lower energy consumption. The company said the new models are targeted at both premium urban consumers and first-time buyers seeking energy-efficient and connected cooling solutions.

In the commercial and high-end residential segment, the company introduced the ‘VRV Alpha’ series, which combines advanced hardware with AI-based control systems. According to Daikin, the system can adapt to changing environmental conditions and optimise performance in real time, improving energy efficiency while maintaining user comfort.

Shogo Ando, Deputy Managing Director, Daikin India, said the company remains committed to offering technologically advanced and reliable products tailored to Indian conditions. “Our 2026 range of over 60 models reflects Japanese innovation adapted for Indian needs,” he said.

Sanjay Goyal, Director and Senior Vice President, said the company’s three manufacturing facilities will support its growth and help meet rising demand for eco-friendly cooling solutions. The company also announced a price increase of 7–12% across its product range from April 2026, citing higher raw material and supply chain costs.

Ulhas Sharma, Regional Vice President (West), and Tulshidas Choudhary, Operations Head, Rest of Maharashtra & Goa, were present at the conference held in JW Marriott Pune.
