Ducati India Takes Road Safety Message to Pune’s Youth at Wadgaonsheri Lighthouse

Italian motorcycle giant joins hands with Lighthouse Communities Foundation and Rotary International to inspire underserved youth in the city

PUNE: In a city better known for its engineering colleges and startup hustle, a quieter story of aspiration is unfolding in Wadgaonsheri Lighthouse. On Wednesday, representatives from Ducati India Private Limited visited the Lighthouse centre to interact with youth.

Representatives from Ducati India Private Limited visited the Lighthouse Communities Foundation centre in Wadgaonsheri and brought with them a message that went beyond the world of Italian superbikes. The message was clear. Ambition, discipline, and the right guidance can bridge even the widest divides.

Mr Vishal Goyal, Director and Chief Financial Officer, Ducati India Private Limited, was present during the visit and interacted with Lighthouse youth, encouraging them to stay focused on their goals and aspirations. For the Lighthouse youth navigating uncertain futures, it was a rare window into a world of possibility.

Mr Goyal spent time in conversation with students, listening to their journeys before encouraging them to remain focused on their goals. “Discipline is not just about riding a motorcycle at speed. It is about how you approach every challenge in life,” he told the gathering. “We see the same hunger and grit in this room that drives champions.”

The CSR initiative by Ducati India has been supported through Rotary Club of Pune Riverside, which facilitated the collaboration with Lighthouse Communities Foundation.

The Lighthouse Communities Foundation, which runs career guidance, life skills training, and employment support programmes for youth in Pune. During the visit, the Lighthouse Communities shared insights about its work and the impact of these programmes. Students then shared their stories, their challenges, and their ambitions with the visiting guests.

Dr Ganesh Natarajan, Co-founder & Chairman of Lighthouse Communities Foundation, placed the visit in the larger context of opportunity and access.

“Youth from underserved backgrounds do not lack talent or determination. What they often lack is access,” Natarajan said. “When organisations like Ducati choose to walk into a centre like this, it sends a powerful message that the world beyond these walls is one they belong in.”

Members of the Ducati team also spoke to students about road safety and responsible riding, an important message for Pune as the city continues to address concerns around traffic safety.

The event brought together representatives from Rotary International alongside Ducati and Lighthouse, highlighting a shared commitment to supporting youth development and creating opportunities for the next generation.
