Pune: Marking International Women’s Day with a strong commitment toward women’s health and community wellbeing, Vencer Hospital has launched a special Women’s Day Health Campaign from March 5 to March 15. The initiative combines preventive healthcare services for women at the hospital with outreach programs for adolescent girls in government schools across the region.
Through this campaign, the hospital aims to encourage women to prioritise their health while also addressing important issues such as menstrual hygiene awareness among young girls.
As part of the hospital-based initiative, Vencer Hospital is offering special health check-up benefits for women patients during the campaign period. These include a 50 percent discount on blood tests, 30 percent discount on DEXA scans to assess bone mineral density, and 30 percent discount on sonography. The objective is to promote early detection of health conditions and encourage women to undergo routine health screenings that are often neglected due to busy lifestyles or lack of awareness.
In addition, on the occasion of Women’s Day, the hospital has announced a special offer for teachers in recognition of their contribution to society. All women teachers can avail a 50 percent discount on blood tests, 40 percent discount on DEXA scans, and 40 percent discount on sonography, along with a free eye check-up during the campaign period.
Doctors at the hospital believe that preventive healthcare is particularly important for women, as many conditions such as osteoporosis, hormonal issues, and lifestyle-related disorders remain undiagnosed until they become serious. By making these diagnostic services more accessible, the hospital hopes more women will take proactive steps toward maintaining their health.
Alongside the hospital-based program, Vencer Hospital is also carrying out community outreach activities in Zilla Parishad and PCMC government schools. As part of these visits, the hospital team is distributing sanitary pads to girl students and conducting awareness sessions on menstrual health and hygiene. The sessions aim to address myths surrounding menstruation, promote safe hygiene practices, and encourage young girls to speak openly about their health concerns.
Many adolescent girls, especially in government schools, still lack access to accurate information and basic menstrual hygiene resources. Through these interactions, the hospital team hopes to build confidence among students and help them understand the importance of menstrual health as a vital part of overall wellbeing.
Dr. Sharoon Shitole, Managing Director and CEO of Vencer Hospital, said the campaign reflects the hospital’s commitment to women both within and beyond its premises.
“As a woman, I feel deeply connected to initiatives that support the health and dignity of other women and young girls. At Vencer Hospital, nearly 80 percent of our workforce is women who contribute every day to caring for our patients and community. Through this Women’s Day initiative, we wanted to go a step further – encouraging women to prioritise preventive healthcare while also reaching out to young girls with awareness and support that can positively shape their future.”
By combining healthcare services with grassroots outreach, Vencer Hospital hopes that this Women’s Day initiative will inspire more women to take charge of their health and help young girls grow up with better awareness, confidence, and access to essential hygiene resources.
