Odomos’ ‘Dengue Mukt Bharat’ campaign launched in Pune; spreads awareness about preventing dengue during the daytime

Launches nationwide awareness initiative to educate citizens on mosquito-borne disease prevention and promote protection during monsoon

Pune : Odomos, India’s No. 1 personal application mosquito repellent brand from the House of Dabur, launched ‘Dengue Mukht Bharat’, a nationwide awareness initiative aimed at educating citizens about dengue prevention and the need for protection against daytime mosquitoes that spread the disease. Through school outreach programmes and community engagement initiatives, the campaign seeks to drive awareness and promote everyday mosquito protection during the monsoon season.

The initiative is part of Odomos’ continued efforts to build awareness around mosquito-borne disease prevention and encourage the adoption of preventive protection practices. Through consumer education and community outreach programmes, the brand aims to help families stay protected from mosquitoes that can transmit diseases such as dengue, malaria & other mosquito borne diseases.

On this occasion, an awareness session was organised at the society under the guidance of Dr. Shruti Salve and with the support of Deshseva Foundation. More than 300 citizens and children participated in the session. The initiative was led by leading medical expert Dr. Shruti Bhimrao Salve. Dr. Shruti Salve, Dinesh Kumar from Dabur India Limited, and office bearers of Deshseva Foundation were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the initiative, Vaibhav Rathi, Marketing Head, Home Care, Dabur India Ltd, said: “Dengue continues to pose a serious public health challenge across India, yet awareness about the role of daytime mosquitoes in spreading the disease remains limited. As India’s leading personal application mosquito repellent brand, Odomos has always championed the cause of protecting families from mosquito-borne diseases. Through ‘Dengue Mukht Bharat’, we are extending that commitment beyond product protection to public awareness, encouraging families to adopt preventive measures and make mosquito protection a daily habit during the monsoon season.”

Addressing the awareness camp, Dr. Shruti Bhimrao Salve said: “Dengue prevention begins with awareness and consistent protection. Since the Aedes aegypti mosquito bites during the day, people are vulnerable not only outdoors but also during everyday activities such as commuting, attending school or spending time in public spaces. Initiatives like ‘Dengue Mukht Bharat’ play an important role in educating communities and encouraging preventive practices.”

Amit Garg, General Manager, Marketing, Dabur India Ltd, said “One of the biggest misconceptions about mosquito protection is that it is only required at night. In reality, dengue-spreading mosquitoes are active during the day, putting people at risk while commuting for work, attending school, exercising outdoors or participating in social events. Through ‘Dengue Mukht Bharat’, we are reinforcing the importance of everyday protection while advancing our long-term purpose of a Dengue-Mukht India by encouraging consumers to make mosquito protection a daily habit.”

Odomos offers protection against mosquitoes through a range of skin-friendly formats including cream, lotion, gel, spray and fabric roll-on, making protection convenient across different consumer needs and occasions. Dabur Odomos has also been certified safe for use on infants and children in tests conducted by leading paediatricians.
