Komal Mankar and Swamini Sonawane bring laurels to Pune in wrestling and shooting ball
Pune: Students of Dhahareshwar Vidya and Krida Pratishthan, Dhayari, have brought glory to the institution and the city by achieving outstanding success at the state and national level competitions during the institution’s silver jubilee year.
At the State School Wrestling Championship held in Raigad, Komal Mankar won the gold medal in the 69 kg category, displaying remarkable skill and determination. Meanwhile, Swamini Sonawane clinched a team gold medal at the National Shooting Ball Championship held in Ghaziabad. Owing to her stellar performance, Komal Mankar will now represent Maharashtra at the upcoming National Wrestling Championship to be held in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The institution felicitated both gold medalists in a special ceremony attended by Chairman Sopan alias Kakasaheb Chavan and Director Aniket Chavan, along with other office bearers, the principal, and faculty members.
Speaking on the occasion, Kakasaheb Chavan said, “The golden achievements of our students during the silver jubilee year of the institution are a matter of immense pride. The credit for this success goes to the players, their families, and our dedicated sports teachers. The determination, hard work, and success demonstrated by these two young athletes will serve as an inspiration for future generations.”
Aniket Chavan added that the institution is soon set to establish a modern sports complex in the Dhayari–Sinhagad Road area, which will provide world-class training facilities to emerging athletes from the region.
The outstanding performances of Komal and Swamini have not only brought accolades to Dhahareshwar Vidya and Krida Pratishthan but have also strengthened Pune’s reputation as a hub of sporting excellence.
