INCLAM to release ‘Music Beyond Words!’ for Music Lovers
Pune (Voice News Service):- A new YouTube channel dedicated to Indian Classical Music, titled INCLAM, is set to launch with a unique offering for music enthusiasts. The channel will feature 67 Raagas of vocal Indian Classical Music recorded in the rare Anibaddha format — without any rhythmic instrumental accompaniment or lyrics. The concept of “Music Beyond Words” perfectly encapsulates this innovative project.
The official launch event will be held on September 28, 2025, at the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women (BNCA) Auditorium in Pune.
Distinguished guests, Sangeetacharya Dr. Pt. Vikas Kashalkar, Principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Pune, Pt. Pramod Marathe, and Dr. Anurag Kashyap, Principal of BNCA, will grace the occasion and formally launch the channel.
Dr. Rajendra Karambelkar, producer and founder of INCLAM, explained that, this is the first time such a large-scale collection of Anibaddha vocal classical music is being made available.
“This project aims to reach not only Indian Classical music lovers worldwide, but also listeners who do not understand any Indian language. Since the music contains no lyrics, its beauty and emotional depth can be universally experienced,” said Dr. Karambelkar.
The creative directors, Mr. Rajiv Tambe and Mrs. Ankita Tambe, emphasized that the simplicity of these renditions will appeal to the younger generation. By presenting classical music in this pure form, INCLAM seeks to remove the barriers and misconceptions often associated with learning classical music.
“These recordings will serve as a timeless resource for generations to come,” they added.
Following the channel launch, renowned vocalists Anuradha Kuber and Shruti Deshpande will perform live, offering the audience a glimpse into this style of music.
INCLAM has recorded 67 Raagas featuring 29 highly reputed artists who are acclaimed both nationally and internationally. Some of the prominent contributors include Mahesh Kale, Shounak Abhisheki, Jayteerth Mevundi, Raghunandan Panshikar, Arti Kundalkar, and Anuradha Kuber.
The collection includes well-known Raagas such as Bihag, Kamod, Marwa, and Ahir Bhairav, along with rarely performed gems like Kapar Gauri Bhairav, Hem, and Lanka Dahan Sarang, making it an intriguing and diverse mix.
Additionally, the Raagas are sequenced to reflect the time of day, offering listeners an uninterrupted Dawn-to-Dusk-to-Dawn musical journey — truly nonstop classical music.
Dr. Karambelkar shared the inspiration behind the project:
“Historically, when Raagas must have been first conceived and established, they must have been purely vocal expressions without rhythmic accompaniments or set lyrics. Over time, as distinct traditions evolved, the elements like Khyal and Bandish were added. By returning to this original form, the artist’s voice connects directly with the listener’s subconscious mind. We believe this approach will not only calm the mind but also help dispel misconceptions about classical music.”
Celebrated harmonium maestro Mr. Rajiv Tambe highlighted the universal appeal of this format:
“Among all musical forms, vocal music is considered the most complete. These recordings allow virtually anyone to sing along. By transcending language barriers, this music unites listeners worldwide and truly represents global harmony.”
Ms. Ankita Tambe added:
“Each Raaga creates a unique emotional world for the listener. These recordings are more than entertainment — they offer bliss and healing for the soul in today’s fast-paced world.”
Artists’ Perspective
Noted vocalist Mr. Mahesh Kale has already stated when he recorded his Raagas that
“This is a kind of music where it’s not about where the artist takes the Swaras, but rather where the Swaras take the artist.”
Similarly, Mr. Jayteerth Mevundi expressed his excitement:
“This pure format has immense potential to bring classical music closer to everyone.”
Dr. Karambelkar recalled an inspiring anecdote:
“Padma Vibhushan and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Vidushi Kishori Amonkar had once expressed that her idea of dream concert was to perform with only ‘her voice and a Tanpura’ on the stage”. This project honors that vision and demonstrates the profound power of the human voice.”
Looking ahead, INCLAM aims to rediscover and revive Raagas that have gradually faded from public performances and are no longer commonly taught.
“Our mission is to bring these forgotten treasures back to the stage and to the hearts of listeners,” Dr. Karambelkar concluded.
