Pune: Sancheti Hospital, Pune, a national leader in orthopaedic and rehabilitation care, announced at a press conference its recognition as a Stroke Ready Centre, marking a significant milestone in emergency and neurological care. This achievement underscores Sancheti’s commitment to providing timely, specialized, and comprehensive stroke treatment, ensuring patients receive critical care when it matters most.
The announcement was made in the presence of Sancheti Hospital’s leadership team including Dr. Parag Sancheti (Chairman), Ms. Rupal Sancheti (Director, Marketing & Communication Department), Dr. Yashvanth Shivanna (Head of the Hospital) and the Department of Neuro-sciences.
Stroke is a medical emergency where every second counts. It is the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of disability globally (World Stroke Organisation, 2023). If treated within the first 60 minutes—the “Golden Hour”—patients have a significantly higher chance of survival and reduced long-term disability.
Sancheti Hospital has taken this step with the exceptional support of the Angels Initiative, which has trained and certified more than 40 clinical staff in various stroke care parameters endorsed by the World Stroke Organisation.
With services of expert neurologists, advanced imaging, and state-of-the-art intervention facilities, Sancheti ensures that patients receive swift diagnosis, immediate treatment, and high-quality rehabilitation support.
“The launch of our Stroke-Ready Unit will ensure that patients suffering from acute neurological emergencies — including both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes — receive immediate, life-saving treatment,” said Dr. Parag Sancheti, Chairman and Managing Director Sancheti Hospitals and Rehabilitation Centre “With a dedicated Cath Lab set to become operational within the next week, and the support of our advanced physiotherapy department, we are fully equipped to provide comprehensive stroke care from the moment of admission through recovery.”
This milestone reaffirms Sancheti Hospital’s role as a leader in emergency and specialized care, continuing its mission to combine compassion, innovation, and excellence in healthcare delivery.
