PIBM committed to industry- aligned education – Raman Preet

Pune : Raman Preet, Chairman of the Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM) Group of Institutes, recently engaged in an informal discussion with media persons at the Ramee Grand, revealing ambitious future plans and a visionary outlook for the institution. Preet emphasized PIBM’s commitment to industry-aligned education, announcing significant expansion and new academic initiatives.

In terms of academic offerings, Preet detailed new programs designed to cater to emerging industries. These include Aviation Management and Engineering, and Design of Semiconductor courses, reflecting PIBM’s proactive approach to incorporating cutting-edge fields into its curriculum.

Further demonstrating the institute’s growth trajectory, Preet confirmed that plans to open five new campuses, including locations in Chandigarh and Dubai, have already materialized. This expansion will significantly broaden PIBM’s reach and offer its unique educational model to a wider student base, both nationally and internationally.

Taking immense pride in PIBM’s robust placement record, Preet stated that the institute has achieved 100 percent placement for all students, with the exception of those opting to join their family businesses. He attributed this success to extensive industry collaboration, highlighting interactions with 10,000 companies that provide students with diverse opportunities for internships and job placements. He also emphasized that teaching at PIBM goes beyond theoretical knowledge, with industry experts contributing to a curriculum enriched with corporate experience.

Founded in 2008, PIBM has distinguished itself through its application-based teaching and job-based coaching methodology. Preet noted that faculties are not merely PhD holders but are also well-versed in corporate culture, ensuring practical relevance in their instruction. He proudly cited that 17,000-18,000 PIBM alumni are currently working in leading companies. He also mentioned that an average student at PIBM receives multiple placement opportunities.

Preet also highlighted PIBM’s innovative approach to curriculum development, noting it as the only institute to have launched Fintech and Agri-tech MBA courses under Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The institute has also successfully enrolled 10,000 students in online PGDM courses. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), PIBM has initiated “Tweening programs” to equip students for global career opportunities.

Addressing efforts to support students from marginal income groups, Preet informed the media about tie-ups with banks that provide loans up to Rs 40 lakhs. He also spoke about the ongoing ‘Uddipan scheme’, a collaborative initiative with AICTE, offering free opportunities to rural students from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The Uddipan portal assists these students in applying for jobs and securing internships in various corporate houses and industries.

Raman Preet concluded the discussion by underscoring the future integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in faculty assessment and the development of future courses, signifying PIBM’s commitment to leveraging technology for enhanced educational outcomes.
