List of Marathi films in the competitive section of PIFF announced
Online registration process for the film festival begins
Pune: The 23rd Pune International Film Festival (PIFF), scheduled from 13 to 20 February 2025, organised in collaboration with Pune Film Foundation, Cultural Department, Government of Maharashtra and Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari has announced the lineup of Marathi films competing in its prestigious competitive section today by the festival director Dr. Jabbar Patel.
A total of 40 Marathi films registered their participation for this competition. Out of these, 7 films have been selected for the final competition. The selected films include: Giran (Director – Vijay Shrirang Khude), Sangla (Director – Raoba Gajmal), Magic (Director – Ravindra Vijay Karmarkar), Cineman (Director – Umesh Bagde), Nirjali (Director – Swati Sadashiv Kadu), Raosaheb (Director – Nikhil Mahajan), Snow Flower (Director – Gajendra Ahire).
An esteemed international jury will evaluate these films during the festival and the winner will be awarded the Maharashtra Government’s Sant Tukaram Best International Marathi Film prize, which includes a cash award of ₹5 lakh. The award will be presented ceremoniously during the festival’s grand closing ceremony.
