Pune (Voice news service):- The,37th National Under`9 Open & Girls Chess Championship is set to take place from December 27th, 2024, to January 2nd, 2025, at the Boxing Hall, Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune.
The event which is being organized by Maharashtra Chess Association under the auspices of FIDE, AICF.

young chess prodigies from across India. A total prize fund of Rs. 5,00,0 ,000 (Rs.2,50,000 each for Open and Girls categories), the championship offers a significant incentive for young players to strive for excellence.
The competition is expected to attract over 312 entries in the Open group and over 160 in the Girls group. The event will be played under S wiss league format in the 11 rounds with the Latest FIDE rules applicable.
The championship will feature a stellar lineup of young talent including Advik Agrawal of Maharashtra is the top seed in the Open group, while Divi Brijesh of Kerala leads the Girls group.
Players from all corners of India, including Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, and many more states, will be participating in this prestigious event.
The championship will provide a platform for these young players to compete, learn, and grow, while fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
