Bhimthadi Jatra Wraps Up its Annual Extravaganza with Record-Breaking Success

Pune: Bhimthadi Jatra, founded by Mrs. Sunanda Tai Pawar is the pinnacle of cultural celebration and agricultural grandeur. Bhimthadi Jatra concluded its week-long festivities at the Agricultural College Ground successfully. The event, held from December 21st to December 25th, showcased an array of cultural, artistic, and culinary delights, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended.

The final day of Bhimthadi Jatra featured the honorable Sharad Pawar extending his wishes to the participants. Bhimthadi Jatra was also attended by the esteemed presence of Supriya Tai Sule, who graced the felicitation ceremony of the sponsors. Rohit Pawar also attended the event alongside Supriya Tai Sule. A notable highlight of this year’s Bhimthadi Jatra was the emphasis on empowering women from self-help groups. Honorable Rohit Pawar personally assisted several groups from the Karjat Jamkhed area in showcasing their unique talents and crafts, providing them with a platform to exhibit their creativity. The event attracted artisans not only from Maharashtra but also from various corners of India, showcasing the rich tapestry of artistic diversity present in the country. Their presence added a distinctive charm to Bhimthadi Jatra, creating an immersive experience for visitors.

The inaugural day of Bhimthadi Jatra burst into life with a captivating performance by the talented students of Sharada Nagar, who enthralled the audience with their rendition of the theme song. The second day reached a crescendo with a live performance by the acclaimed singer duo Sai-Peyush. Known for their rendition of the Bhimthadi Jatra theme song, the duo has also composed songs for the popular movie “Bai Pan Bhari Deva,” leaving the audience mesmerized with their soulful tunes and the third and fourth days witnessed an overwhelming footfall, fueled by the enthusiasm of the weekend and the festive season. Visitors from all walks of life flocked to the event grounds, creating an atmosphere of celebration and camaraderie. Attendees indulged in a gastronomic journey at the food arena, savoring culinary maestros’ diverse and delicious spread. The food section was a culinary haven for food enthusiasts, from local delicacies to global flavors.

Bhimthadi Jatra this year saw an overall footfall of around a lakh but its fourth day was record-breaking with thirty-seven thousand visitors gracing the Jatra with their presence. 11 states, 21 districts, 321 women’s self-help groups have participated in the Bhimathadi Jatra. Meanwhile, the participating women’s self-help groups have made a financial turnover of more than 4 crore 60 lakhs in 5 days. 

Reflecting on the event’s success, Rohit Pawar, said, “Bhimthadi Jatra has once again exceeded expectations, becoming a melting pot of culture, tradition, and innovation. The support from the community, the participation of esteemed guests, and the vibrant energy of the attendees have made this edition truly remarkable.”
