Pune has the potential to become the innovation capital of India
With a well-established start-up ecosystem, talent pool, growing culture of innovation in educational institutes and companies, continuing infrastructure upgrades, world class organisations and companies providing solutions to the world, Pune has the potential to become the innovation capital of India according to Mr. Vineet Patni, President TiE Pune.
Vineet Patni said that edtech, auto and agritech are the domains which have been doing well in Pune, but in recent times there has been a lot of momentum in the healthcare space and it has been a favourite amongst young entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, and large entrepreneurs as entrepreneurs from smaller towns. Going forward, healthcare will continue to be a fairly attractive proposition for the longer term investments and in terms of how it will impact globally and companies in India. Apart from healthcare mobility, especially EV, cybersecurity will continue to gain traction. He added that as more and more companies chose India as their manufacturing hub, we will see more and more product related start-ups in near future. The diverse set of expertise and talent pool, Pune will continue to grow as a start up hub in all domains.
While Mumbai and Pune are the start-up hubs in Maharashtra, increasing number of youngsters from smaller towns are coming forward with innovative ideas and that is reflected in the annual Nurture Accelerator Program which is aimed at mentoring entrepreneurs in all areas of business.
