Johnson Controls Announces Expansion of College Partnership Program in Pune
Pune (Voice news service):- Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), the global leader for smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, today announced an expansion of its philanthropic initiative, the College Partnership Program in Pune, India. Following the success of the initial launch, the initiative aims to enroll and graduate students from historically underrepresented groups, equipping them with the necessary skills for employment.
As part of the phase one of the program, Johnson Controls provided a grant of $20,000 USD each to Don Bosco College and Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya in 2022. The funds covered tuition fees, enhanced infrastructure, and facilitated skill development and certifications. The impact also extended beyond the immediate beneficiaries, with Johnson Controls employees engaging in the program as mentors, guest speakers, and tutors, fostering an environment of holistic development and support.
Building on the achievements of the first phase of the program, Johnson Controls has offered full-time positions to 10 students and internships to six students. Johnson Controls is now extending its support to the two colleges by providing a grant of $20,000 USD each to Don Bosco College and Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya of Pune in 2023 again.
