Millennium National School won the Inter School Quiz Competition organized by Vigyan Bharati & Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India

Pune : Millennium National School Pune won the inter-school quiz competition, jointly organized by Vigyan Bharati & the Union Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. MES Balshikshan Mandir (English Medium) School in Mayur Colony bagged the second position while Cygnet Public School in Narhe bagged the third position.

These meritorious students were felicitated with a cash prize of Rs.10,000 for the first place, Rs.7,000 for the second place, and a certificate of Rs.5,000 for the third place.

Another team from Millennium National School and Arise International School were given a consolation prize of Rs 2,500 and a certificate. A certificate was given to all the participants in the competition. The competition was held at the Amphitheater of Fergusson College.

The quiz competition was held on the theme ‘Contribution of Indian Scientists and Scientific Institutions in Freedom Struggle’. 39 teams across Maharashtra of 8th and 9th standards from Marathi, English, Semi-English and Hindi medium participated spontaneously in this. Renowned quiz master Rajib Sanyal conducated this competition in a very interesting way.

Dr. Swati Joglekar, Member of Deccan Education Society. Dr. Savita Kelkar, Vigyan Bharati West Maharashtra Prant Secretary Dr.  Mansi Malgaonkar, Dr. Ramesh Joshi, Shrikant Kulkarni, Dr. Pramila Lahoti and others were present.

Dr. Wani congratulated all the winners and said that such competitions should be organised frequently to inculcate nationalism and scientific temperament in young minds. Dr Manasi Malgaonkar mentioned that Vigyan Bharati works for the popularisation of science. We are planning a lot of activities in the year for students.

Rajib Sanyal appreciated the response of the students, as well as their talent. Students should know about Indian scientists, great sons of India, culture and heritage & Mother India. He said that such competitions and activities will be conducted all over the country.
