Aeromodelling Show Organized for Nearly 3,000 Students living in Slum Area

Show organized by Youth Organization for Joining, Action & Knowledge (YOJAK NGO) to create awareness about aeromodelling at the grassroots

Pimpri: An Aeromodelling Show was organized for more than 3,000 students living in slum areas by renowned NGO Youth Organization for Joining, Action & Knowledge (YOJAK) and Bajaj Auto to promote aeromodelling and create awareness about the dynamics and technological advancements in the field. The show was organized at H. A. Ground in Pimpri and Shekhar Singh, Commissioner, PCMC was present as the Chief Guest.

Sadanand Kale and Atharva Kale from Satara displayed a special aeromodelling show on the ground with demonstration of 15 airplanes and 7 fighter planes to the students. Aircraft such as Flying Garuda, Gliders, Indian Air Force’s MiG 21, MiG 29, Sukhoi, Tejas, Jaguar aircraft and trainer planes were demonstrated here.

Bhupali Mhaskar, Senior Manager, CSR, Bajaj, Annasaheb Bodhade, Additional Commissioner, PCMC, Sandeep Khot, Deputy Commissioner, PCMC and Bina Joshi, Head, CSR, Forbes Marshall were the other Guests of Honour at the program. Also present were Atul Inamdar, Founder YOJAK, Renu Inamdar, Director, YOJAK, Neelkanth Poman, Head, IT & CSR, PCMC, Datta Pawar, Majid Khan, Reshma Andhale and Vijay Wavre.

The students were awestruck by the exciting live demonstration of flying of radio-controlled aircraft models by the expert team. The students also witnessed the technological advancements and learnt important lessons of preciseness, patience and courage. The show provided new wings of scientific thoughts to the students who otherwise do not have exposure to experience and experiment with high-cost technology and advancements.

YOJAK is an NGO working to empower vulnerable communities such as tribals and slum dwellers in PCMC and rural areas of Pune district by means of innovative programs in the field of education, health, technology and natural resource management.

The NGO in association with BAJAJ auto Ltd. and with active participation of PCMC runs 12 Learning Centres in PCMC slums areas. This is with a vision to provide access to underprivileged students to learn science, & technology advancements and motivate them to innovate and further contribute to the future of the nation. Two of the centres are equipped with technology labs.
