MITWPU School of Pharmacy  to conduct “Pharmathon: An Innovative Competition”

Pune (P&V News Service): At a time when healthcare has taken the centre stage during pandemic, innovations in the pharmaceutical industry will be a key in shaping the future of healthcare . Taking this into consideration and to promote pharma innovations, MITWPU School of Pharmacy is organizing Pharmathon: A National Level Innovation Competition between 16th May to 3rd June 2022 at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MITWPU), Pune.

The main objective of this competition is to promote and encourage innovations by budding pharmacists in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.It also aims to provide expert advice and suggestions for mind-to-market transformation. The competition will be held in two rounds. The first round will be online during which the participants will have to present their innovation prototypes to evaluators. Qualifiers of the first round will get a unique opportunity to interact with the nationwide industry experts. The second evaluation round shall be conducted on the MITWPU campus, Pune. The first winnerof the competition will be awarded a cash prizeof seventy-five thousand rupees along with others with cash prizes ranging from ten thousand to fifty thousand rupees

Pharmacy students and professionals are eligible to participate in the competition. The registration for the competition will be accepted till 12th May 2022.

This competition will be conducted under the leadership of Mr. Rahul V Karad Executive President MITWPU. With the relentless support and mentorship of  Prof. Dr. Milind Pande Pro-Vice-Chancellor MITWPU, and Prof. Dr. B. S. Kuchekar Dean School of Pharmacy MITWPU the competition will be executed by MITWPU School of Pharmacy.

Dr.Akshay Baheti Head of School of Pharmacy MITWPU says “Pharmathon will help to develop imagination, creativity, and innovative mindsets in pharmacy students and professionals for developing next-generation entrepreneurs, providing breakthrough innovations, and promoting pharma start-ups”.The thought was supported by Dr. Anil Pawar Head, Pharmacology departmentsaying,“This next-generation Pharmathon innovations will wider the scope of pharmacy students in Bharat.”
