SAKSHAM Initiative Promotes Fuel Conservation and Sustainable Energy Practices in Pune
Pune (Voice news service):- Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Public Sector Undertaking, is actively promoting fuel conservation and energy efficiency in Pune through SAKSHAM initiative, a national campaign led by Oil Marketing Companies under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The initiative is being organised between 1st Feb to 15 Feb 2026 with tagline Conserve Oil and Gas , Go Green.
The programme aims to create awareness among citizens about the importance of conserving petroleum products and adopting sustainable fuel usage practices. This information was given at a Press Conference by Mr. Prasad Savji Senior Sales Manager, Pune Region, HPCL and Ali Daruwala, National Spokesperson All India Petrol Dealers Association ( AIPDA)
HPCL along with other Oil Marketing Compainies is playing a key role in engaging consumers, transporters, students and industry stakeholders. The initiative focuses on encouraging responsible fuel consumption, reducing carbon emissions and supporting India’s transition towards a greener and more energy-efficient future.
As part of the initiative, HPCL is conducting a series of awareness activities including workshops, rallies, school and college outreach programmes like debates, article writing compettion , grafitti, wall painting , driver training sessions and consumer interactions at fuel stations.
Fuel conservation is not just an economic necessity but also an environmental responsibility and through Saksham, the various initiatives seek to inspire behavioural change and empower citizens to contribute to energy security and environmental protection.
