Free Eye Check-ups and Cataract Surgeries for Commercial Vehicle Drivers
Pune: Intending to improve the eye health of vehicle drivers and reduce road accidents, ASG Eye Hospital has launched a Driver Vision Campaign at its Ferguson College Road, Shivajinagar branch in Pune and Kokane Chowk, Pimple Saudagar (Pimpri-Chinchwad). The campaign commenced on January 20 and will continue until February 11.
Under this special initiative, free eye check-ups and cataract surgery facilities are being provided for all commercial vehicle drivers, including auto-rickshaw, truck, and cab drivers. Drivers must possess a valid driving license to avail of these services.
Clear vision plays a crucial role in road safety, as reduced eyesight—especially during night driving or long-distance travel—often leads to accidents. In this context, the primary aim of the campaign is to encourage drivers to take proper care of their eye health. Experts believe that such free eye examinations and cataract surgeries will be effective in preventing accidents caused by vision impairment.
ASG Eye Hospital’s initiative, aimed at safeguarding the health of commercial vehicle drivers, ensuring access to essential medical services, and creating awareness about road safety, is currently receiving an enthusiastic response from drivers.
