50 years reunion celebration of the 1976 batch of St. Joseph’s Technical Institute, Pune
Pune (Voice news service):- The 1976 batch of St. Joseph's Technical Institute (SJTI), Pune, recently ( 26th January) gathered to celebrate their Golden Jubilee. The event took place on the campus of the Institute and was honored by the presence of their former Principal & Director, Bro. Noel Oliver, SJ.
Many batchmates reunited for the first time in years, sharing warm greetings and memories. The celebration was graced by several distinguished guests, including Fr. Vijay Chokhar, the current Director of SJTI; Fr. Bhausaheb Sansare SJ, former Director of SJTI and former Provincial of Pune Jesuit Province; and Fr. Kenneth Misquitta, former Provincial of Pune Jesuit Province and current Superior of the SJTI community.
Also in attendance were Mr. Walter Tresslor, former instructor, and Mrs. Magaret Sule, the former Secretary to the Director of SJTI.
The function commenced with a Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration, setting a reflective and grateful tone for the day. Following this, the alumni toured the various workshops on campus, which evoked fond memories from their student days fifty years ago.
The alumni took the opportunity to share stories from their professional and personal lives since graduating from SJTI. These heartfelt accounts provided moments of emotion and nostalgia for everyone present.
The celebration continued with a lively game of Tambola, enjoyed alongside snacks and beverages. Guests and alumni were honored with mementos to mark the significance of the occasion. The celebrations culminated in a fellowship lunch, providing an opportunity for everyone to further strengthen their connections.
Fr. Ashok Ohol, SJ, himself a proud alumnus of the 1976 batch, delivered a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. He sincerely acknowledged the collective efforts that made the reunion a memorable success, expressing appreciation for the dedication and commitment of his batchmates Terrence, Mani, and Vishwas, whose hard work was instrumental in organizing the event.
Fr. Ashok also extended his gratitude to all the distinguished guests who took time from their busy schedules to join the celebration, emphasizing the significance of their presence. Special thanks were offered to Fr. Vijay Chokhar for his unwavering support and valuable guidance throughout the preparations.
