RISE India Leadership Summit to Highlight the Strategic Role of CMAs in Global Capability Centers

Pune: The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) will organize the “RISE India Leadership Summit” in Pune, with the theme “Strategic Leadership in Global Capability Centers (GCCs): CMAs as Architects of Value Creation.” The summit aims to highlight the evolving role of GCCs and the growing strategic contribution of Cost and Management Accountants (CMAs). This information was shared by CMA Vinay Ranjan, Chairman of ICMAI’s Career Counselling and Placement Committee, during a press conference.

Also present at the press conference were CMA Chaitanya Moharir, Secretary – ICMAI-WIRC, and CMA Shrikant Ippalpalli, Chairman – ICMAI Pune Chapter, along with other dignitaries. The meeting will be held tomorrow (30th January 2026) at Hotel Vivanta, Pune from 4 pm to 8 pm.

CMA Vinay Ranjan stated that this is ICMAI’s first-ever conference dedicated exclusively to GCCs. While GCCs were earlier largely confined to cost control and financial reporting, today they are expected to play a much broader role encompassing strategic planning, performance management, risk governance, and effective use of digital capabilities. CMAs are exceptionally well-equipped to meet these emerging requirements.

With strong expertise in cost and profitability analysis, strategic planning, performance measurement, and decision support, CMAs are increasingly becoming key strategic partners for global CFOs and business leaders. Their role is especially prominent in areas such as margin optimization, finance transformation, analytics, governance, and ESG-linked decision-making.

The summit will bring together representatives from leading GCC organizations, CFOs, and HR leaders, and will serve as an important platform for industry interaction and leadership-focused discussions.
