Pune to host the biggest Spine surgeons meet of Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI)
Pune (Voice news service):- The Pune Association of Spine Surgeons (PASS) is organising the 39th annual conference of the Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI) at the JW Marriott Hotel in Pune. More than 1200 spine surgeons are expected to take part in the deliberations.
Dr. Shailesh Hadgaonkar, Secretary of the Organizing Committee of ASSICON 2026 and Head of Spine and Neuroscience Unit at Sancheti Hospital, Pune said ASSICON 2026 promises to be a landmark event, with five prestigious Spine Surgeons’ Societies like the American Scoliosis Research Society, British Association of Spine Surgeons – BASS, Korean Minimally Invasive Spine Soceity – KOMISS, Singapore Association of Spine Society & AO Spine – a global academic community for spine care along with delegates from nearby nations like Nepal and Sri Lanka all coming together for the first time in India.
Dr. Rajesh Parasnis, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said that the conference will bring together international and national experts, and more than 1200 spine surgeons are expected to participate. The conference will feature various academic, technical, and scientific discussions on diverse spine-related problems, deformities, and their modern diagnostic and treatment methods, along with research paper competitions, quizzes, TED talks, and keynote speeches.
Dr. Pradyumna Pai Raiturkar, treasurer Pune Association of Spine Surgeons of India informed that some of the topics discussed will be related to the commonest growing problems like neck, lower back, spine problems, deformities like scoliosis, revision spine problems, osteoporosis, paediatric spine problems among others.
Dr S K Shrivastav, the President of Association of Spine Surgeons of India said that this meeting is a great conglomeration of non-surgical/ conservative treatment for spinal problems . Dr Appaji Krishnan, the secretary of Association of Spine Surgeons of India added that the most advanced spine treatments and protocols for addressing spine issues including the latest advancements in spine surgeries from robotic, to navigation-based spine surgeries, endoscopic spine surgeries will be presented and discussed.
Dr Hadgaonkar added that the Various ASSI study groups headed by renowned experts will deliberate on various topics which will help the young generation of spine surgeons about formulating the protocols and at the same time it will help them understand the current concepts from many practicing surgeons.
