Pune : On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, a grand procession was taken out by the Shri Sakal Gangadham Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav Samiti with the participation of all the four sects of the Jain community. The procession started from the Jain Temple of Vardhmanpura Society at Bibewadi Gangadham in an atmosphere of great joy and affection. The procession passed through all the societies of the area and culminated at the Jain Temple in Gangadham Phase 2. In Attractive traditional costumes, unique look, different music troupes with the tune of Lezim and with the cheers of ‘Jai Bolo Mahavir Swami Ki’, a procession was taken out in which MLA Madhuri Misal and Lok Sabha candidate Murlidhar Mohol participated, said by Umesh mandot of mahavir janma kalyanak mahotsav samiti.
Ashok Hingad said that with this Varghoda more than 2000 Jain followers were also walking. It was just a beautiful sight. Most of the societies of the area through which this Varghoda passed gave their full support to it, due to which this Varghoda attained perfection. In this grand procession, 5 chariots, 3 band teams, 1 dhol tasha team, 1 DJ system and thousands of men-women, children, youth and elderly people participated. This beauty of the Varaghoda of Lord Mahavir Swami, the promoter of non-violence, was visible. The chariots were decorated with flowers and the chariots resounding with the laughter of children. talk about the Jain flags then it was like the sea was choking on these religious flags. Indra Dhvaja was doing the work of Suhaga on gold. Beautiful hymns of Bhagwan Mahavir on the band, dhol tache as well as the DJ were soothing to the ears and enthused the crowd to groove to the beats. The number of women walking in traditional attire along with the varghoda was not only remarkable but also reflected their faith and devotion. Umesh Mandot, Ashok Hingad, Anand Kataria, Mrs. Sarika Sancheti, Dinesh Agarwal, Anil Porwal, Anil Bhansali, Naresh Jain, Lalit Gundecha did not only work hard to make the event successful but also made judicious planning to make it a success from every point of view for which Jain followers and other society people have praised them a lot.
