Indian Cricketer Kedar Jadhav inaugurated the Fifth Season of ‘Sindhi Premier League’

‘SPL-5’ donated a dialysis machine to the ANP Care Foundation in Pune

Pune: Kedar Jadhav, an Indian Cricketer inaugurated the fifth season of Sindhi Premier League, a nonprofit-making cricket tournament recently at Mrunal Cricket Ground, Pimpri. This league is kept with the motive of uniting the Sindhi community, aiming at the importance of fitness and contributing to society as well.

This year, Sindhi Premier League donated a dialysis machine worth Rs. 7.50 lac to the ANP Care Foundation, a donation of 1.5 lac to Mamata Balsadan of Late Sindhutai Sapkal & 50 thousands to Jagriti School for Blind Girls. 

Mamata Sapkal, Jawahar Kotwani, Ashok Aswani, Ganesh Kudale & many others were present on the occasion. From the organizing committee Kanwal Khiyani, Hitesh Dadlani, Kamal Jethani, Ankush Mulchandani, Naresh Nasha, Karan Aswani, Avinash Tejwani, Piyush Jethani, Kunal Gudela, Avinash Israni were also present.

The matches will be played for 24 days with a mega closing ceremony on the day of finals on 2nd March 2024. This year another exciting addition to the league is that SPL has added WOMEN SINDHI PREMIER league matches, for women to get a chance to enjoy the sports with their family. 16 Men’s teams & 6 Women’s cricket teams participating in it this year.

The names of Men’s teams are Mast Kalandars, Sultans of Sindh, Mohenjodaro Warriors, Sindhful Rangers, SSD Falcons, Indus Dynamos, Dada Vaswanis Brigade, Jhulelal Superkings, Hemukalani Gladiators, Gurunanak Knights, Sant Kanwaram Royals, Aryans United, Jai Baba Stickers, Sindhi Indians, Ajrak Supergiants and Pimpri Yodhas. The names of the women Teams are kept on the important rivers from various parts of this Incredible country – GANGA Warriors, CAUVERY Crusaders, GODAVARI Giants, JHELUM Queens, SINDHU Starlets, YAMUNA Strikers.

Kedar Jadhav said, “This league is important for inculcating sportsmanship among the youth of the Sindhi community. We should enjoy this game with team spirit and honesty. Cricket is a game that brings everyone together. Sport helps to stay mentally refreshed and physically fit. I am very happy that from this year, women have also been given the opportunity to play, and this initiative taken by the Sindhi community is commendable.”

Hitesh Dadlani said, “A group of youngsters in Pimpri Chinchwad came together four years ago to organize and envision this league as a place to come out in person and get a feel of meeting people, playing together, and celebrating oneness. The league theme song is – ‘Jiyo Sindhi’ and the tagline is ‘PLAY CELEBRATE REPEAT’.

The first match of the league was played between Mohenjodaro Worriers & Mast Kalandars and Mast Kalandars won the match by 7 wickets.
