Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) awards Merit – cum- Need Based Scholarships to over1600 girls.
Pune: Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) awarded Merit- cum- Need Based Scholarships to over 1,600 meritorious and financially challenged girls for academic year 2023-2024 across Pune, Wardha, Amravati, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Out of these over 1,300 girls are pursuing their Undergraduation Degrees in Engineering, Engineering After Diploma, Pharmacy, Nursing, Sciences and Postgraduation degrees and will be supported for the entire course. And over 260 girls are pursuing the 7th grade in schools and will continue their education until graduation.
This year the scholarship award ceremony was divided amongst 10 functions across all these regions. The girls were felicitated with the scholarship awards in the hands of LPF’s Chairperson- Mrs. Lila Poonawalla, Founder Trustee- Mr. Firoz Poonawala, LPF’s Board of Trustees – Ms. Roda Mehta & Ms. Vinita Deshmukh, LPF’s CEO & Trustee- Ms. Priti Khare, and Leadership team from LPF’s Corporate Partners, Donors, Scholarship Selection Committee Members and Well-wishers.
“In our 28th year, LPF has achieved the milestone of empowering over 15,800 LILA Daughters. Our merit-cum-need based scholarship and skill-building program is aimed at supporting these deserving girls to pursue their education. And variety of skill building, training programs, industry exposure visit, mentoring and counselling offered, makes these girls confident, knowledgeable, skilled, and employable. Many of
our girls have become successful women leaders, associated with corporates, academic institutions and healthcare institutes across the world. These girls are academically, intelligently, economically and socially empowered,
contributing to the economic growth of the globe. They also have turned into responsible
citizens, supporting their families and communities around them.
