National Chicken Day is celebrated on the 16th & 17th of November

Pune: On the occasion of the Father of Indian Poultry Padmashri Dr. B. V. Rao’s birth anniversary, the Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association Maharashtra has organized a nationwide awareness campaign on November 16 and 17. As part of the campaign, chicken is being sold at a discounted price from various shops in the city for these two days.

On the occasion of this day, the Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association Maharashtra also showcased various chicken dishes at Venky’s Xpress outlet on Fergusson College Road. Association’s Maharashtra President Sanjay Nalgirkar, Secretary Dr. Ajay Deshpande, and Treasurer Krishnacharan have announced that this day is being celebrated all over the country. Sankalp Kulkarni & Sanjay Thopate on behalf of the Association, and Kiran Gunjal, Operational Manager of Venky’s were present on the occasion.

Convenor of the Pan India Broiler Coordination Committee and Former president of the Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association of Maharashtra Vasantakumar Setty said, “This day is being celebrated with the aim of creating awareness about chicken among common citizens. Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association Maharashtra, Karnataka Poultry Farmers Breeders Association, West Bengal Poultry Federation, and many other state poultry associations organized various programs across the country. In this awareness campaign, various activities like special discounts on chicken products, awareness programs, lectures, demonstrations, and training are being organized.

Sankalp Kukarni mentioned, Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association Maharashtra, has been working for the welfare of Poultry Farmers and Producers for the last two decades. More than 100 poultry breeders and producers are members of the association. Collectively, four and a half crore broiler placements are done every month by the members of the organization. The association has been working tirelessly to promote the welfare of poultry farmers. The organization represents the members before the state as well as the central government.
