All women’s batch completes drone training in Pune at PBC’s Aero Hub

Pune: An all-women’s batch including 19 members completed a 10 day drone training program at PBC’s Aero Hub at Saswad in Pune District. This is the first women’s batch in Maharashtra to undergo drone training for medium drones (upto 50kg) . The training was a part of the Indian Farmer’s Fertilizer Cooperative ltd  IFFCO program for women under which they are being given an three wheeler electric vehicle as well as a drone set  in an effort to boost rural development and women empowerment. The training program was conducted for 15 days.

The certificates were handed over at a special function in presence of Mr.MS Pawar Senior Manager IFFCO along with directors of PBC’s Aero Hub Anjali and Pranav Chitte.

In the training program recognized by DGCA, the participants underwent theoretical as well as practical training on operating drones.  The topics included how to operate drones, rules and regulations, flying drones, use of drones in agriculture, types of fertilizers to be used. IoTech, one of the leading drone making companies also participated in program.

PBC’s Aero Hub incorporated in 2016 got a license for drone training from DGCA in March 2021. Till date 300 drone pilots and 100 instructors have been trained. Currently it is the only center in Maharashtra to be recognized by DGCA for instructor training.

Those in the age group of 18-45 years with valid address proof documents are the eligible to participate in the program.
