Chartered Accountants to play vital role for five trillion economy, Cabinet Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar

Pune (Voice news service):- “Maharashtra contributes nearly 20 percent of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection. Annually, GST amounting to 2 lakh 17 thousand crores is paid from Maharashtra. Therefore, Maharashtra is truly the engine of the Indian economy. We are moving towards a five trillion economy and chartered accountants to play a vital role to achieve it. By taking the initiative to collect maximum GST, Chartered Accountants are fulfilling their responsibility to empower the Indian economy,” says Sudhir Mungantiwar, Cabinet Minister for Forests, Cultural Affairs and Fisheries in Maharashtra Government.
He was addressing the CA’s gathered for two days national conference on Goods and Service Tax organized by GST & Indirect Taxes Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and hosted by ICAI Pune Branch. More than 450 chartered accountants participated in it. Vice-Chairman of GST & Indirect Taxes Committee CA Umesh Sharma, Central Council Member CA Chandrashekhar Chitale, Regional Council Member CA Ruta Chitale, CA Yashwant Kasar, Chairman of ICAI Pune branch CA Rajesh Agrawal, Vice-Chairperson CA Amruta Kulkarni, Secretary CA Ajinkya Randive, Committee members CA Pranav Apte, CA Mausami Shah, CA Sachin Miniyar, CA Kashinath Pathare and many others were present on the occasion.
Sudhir Mungantiwar said, “The GST Act was implemented from July 2017 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under ‘One Nation One Tax’ to bring simplicity and ease in the tax system. Chartered Accountants have contributed significantly to the implementation and streamlining of this Act since its inception. Many reforms have been made in the last 50 meetings of the GST Council. After GST, the income of every state has increased, the growth rate has gone up to 14 percent. The economic condition of the states has improved. A large amount of funds have been made available for the construction of infrastructure.”
“The economy of the country is progressing through the combined efforts of taxpayers, chartered accountants and the government.
We have overtaken Britain and will soon fulfill our dream of becoming the third largest economy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised that chartered accountants who contribute to the country and contribute to economic development are the backbone of the Indian economy.
So we should continue to contribute in making the tax system more easy and simple,” he added.
CA Umesh Sharma guided on ‘New reforms in GST law’. Experts in various subjects guided in this two days conference. CA Rajesh Agrawal gave an opening remark. CA Chandrashekhar Chitale briefed about the conference. CA Mausami Shah compared the function. CA Yashwant Kasar gave vote of thanks.
