Pune : The Annual CII National Award for Environmental Best Practices 2023 were given away at the CII GreenCo Summit organized by CII Green Business Centre recently at Hotel Westin.
The awards were given away to 45 companies to who had implemented various innovative environmental projects during past 2 years period. The awards were given under three categories viz. ‘Most Innovative Project’, ‘Innovative project’ and ‘Most Useful Project’.
Apart from this about 33 companies were awarded with the GreenCo rating including Gold rating for 12 companies, silver rating for 16 companies and bronze rating for 5 companies. 13 senior assessors were also felicitated on the occasion.
The awards and certifications were given away at the hands of Dr.Naushad Forbes, Past President, CII and Co-Chairman, Forbes Marshall, Guest of Honour Prof. Sunil Bhagwat,Director,Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune and Mr Pradeep Bhargava Chairman, GreenCo Summit 2023 and Chairman, CII GreenCo Council .
The CII National Award for Environmental Practices are given to to recognize, encourage and support the efforts of Indian industry in conservation of natural resources and pollution prevention while the GreenCo Rating system includes parameters likeEnergy Efficiency, Water Conservation, Renewable Energy, GHG Mitigation, Waste Management, Material Conservation,Recycling, , Green Supply Chain, Product Stewardship, Lifecycle Assessment, Biodiversity and more.
