NSDC and Fenice Energy to train a renewable energy workforce

Pune (Voice News Service): National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and Fenice Energy, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, have commenced a partnership to provide upskilling and micro-entrepreneurship opportunities in the green energy sector. The partnership will aid and accelerate in the transition to cleaner sources of energy in our country. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to ensure that more than 1-lakh learners are trained in various skill sets required in the renewable energy sector.

The program is specifically aimed at two key development objectives for India – creating robust opportunities to develop jobs/micro-entrepreneurs across the country; and tackling the climate crisis. Through this partnership both entities will identify candidates for upskilling and coach them through a mix of an e-learning platform and practical coursework; and ensure placement of all the graduating learners. The program is directed to train the learners in Sales & Marketing modules, Installation and Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance and Software Design.

With advancements in renewable energy, the partnership is designed to start and pilot with solar and over a period of time advance to storage and hydrogen as well. Engagements with various training partners and skilling agencies are underway to mobilize candidates, deliver high quality training, and ensure absorption into a ‘green workforce’

Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC said, “Renewable energy is the future of the world, and with a vision to create 1 lakh entrepreneurs and jobs, we are excited to collaborate with Fenice. This partnership is a significant step towards upskilling and empowering India’s workforce to meet the demands of the growing global renewable energy industry. My vision is to witness our country’s youth leading the world’s transition to green energy.”

Speaking about the partnership, Pashupathy Gopalan, the CEO of Fenice Energy, said “Fenice Energy is proud to work collaboratively with the NSDC to train and create entrepreneurship opportunities in the renewable industry. Our country is at a precipice of an energy transition, and the solemn commitment made by our country to get to non-fossil fuel energy capacity of ‘500 GW by 2030’, requires a large number of trained workers. Fenice will leverage its 20+ years of experience in delivering world-class renewable projects to design and deliver the curriculum.”
